Prof. Gunnar Lehmann

Gunnar Lehmann is a Professor for Near Eastern Archaeologist at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beersheba, Israel, and an Honorary Professor for the Archaeology of the Southern Levant at the Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. Graduated from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Freie Universität Berlin. Excavated in Syria, Jordan, Turkey and Israel. Currently excavating at Tell Keisan, Israel, in cooperation with J. David Schloen of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago.
His research interests focus on the ancient society and economy of the Levant in its connections and exchanges with the Ancient Near East and the Ancient Mediterranean with emphasis on Philistines and Phoenicians.
