Michael P. Streck is professor of Ancient Near Eastern Studies and head of the Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the University of Leipzig. Streck is editor-in-charge of the Reallexikon der Assyriologie und Vorderasiatischen Archäologie.
Main research areas: Akkadian (Babylonian-Assyrian) grammar, lexicon, and literature; Amorite onomastics; nomadism in Mesopotamia; man and nature in Mesopotamia.
